Run a server

Diteko is self-hosted. Each team runs its own server, with its own data and its own AWS credentials; nothing leaves your network. The diteko Python package and the web console both talk to that server.

You need Docker with Compose. Nothing else.

  1. Download the latest release from diteko-selfhost and unpack it.

  2. Create the settings and start it:

    Terminal window
    # Write .env: a database password and a bootstrap key
    sh setup.sh
    # Start the server, Postgres and Redis
    docker compose up -d
  3. Open http://localhost:8080. The console asks for an API key: use the bootstrap key setup.sh printed to create your own keys, then retire it.

Self-hosting covers each step in full, along with connecting Amazon Connect, serving a team behind TLS, upgrades and backups.

Terminal window
pip install diteko # the SDK
pip install "diteko[mcp]" # with diteko-mcp

The package is a client: on its own it has nothing to talk to. Point it at your server with DITEKO_URL (it defaults to http://localhost:8080) and give it a key with DITEKO_API_KEY.

Next: your first suite.
