Export a test script
Export Excel on a suite writes a workbook laid out after ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119-3, for people who test a flow by calling it:
| Sheet | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Cover | document control, the flow and run it came from, sign-off |
| Summary | counts and pass rate per status, all formulas, so it updates as testers fill it in |
| Test Cases | one row per test: objective, preconditions, expected outcome, a status to set |
| Test Steps | each key press as a step, with the prompts expected before the next one |
| Environment & Data | every precondition (call within business hours, an attribute’s value) and how to arrange it |
| Traceability | which flow blocks each test passes through |
| Legend | what the statuses and colours mean, with a worked example |
Statuses are dropdowns (Not Run, Pass, Fail, Blocked, Skipped). Pale yellow cells are for the tester; everything else is generated.
The workbook has the same tests, in the same order, as the suite screen. From Python:
suite.export_xlsx("claims-tests.xlsx").
The suite also exports as Connect native test cases, to import into Connect yourself, and as JSON for your own tooling.
